I am actively building various notions of ceramic arts: functional wares, handbuilding objects, and 3D prints - under Frank Olt, who is a long-time faculty at Long Island University. While he has been giving me training in of ceramic studio management skills, I went through a few different firing activities. My mentors - Evan, Vince, and Jeff, I was involved in the gas firing process; the high firing and heavy reduction process opened a new direction in my works. Evan introduced me to Trevor Youngberg who built Anagama in Connecticut, and then I jump into their 2022 Summer wood firing shift right away. It was a fascinating experience in terms of both working and the results. I found that the American-style Raku firing was not just a learning experience but it is also a mind-opening approach to ceramic art. In terms of other academic acgtivities, I'm studying and researching science aspects of ceramics and the intercultural history of ceramic arts in the United States. In the meantime, I submitted a few applications for conferences and events.
